This chapter describes installation and configuration issues associated with Oracle WebCenter Content. It includes the following topics:

For more information about Oracle WebCenter Content installation and configuration, see the Oracle WebCenter Content Installation Guide or the Oracle WebCenter Content Quick Installation Guide.

35.1 Rebranding of Oracle Enterprise Content Management Suite to Oracle WebCenter Content

Oracle Enterprise Content Management Suite has been changed to Oracle WebCenter Content in the Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g (11.1.1.6.0) release. Oracle WebCenter Content is part of the Oracle WebCenter product stack, to provide the most complete, open, and unified enterprise content management platform.

The software and documentation for most of the Oracle WebCenter Content products have been rebranded accordingly. Table 35-0 shows the new and previous names.

35.2 Documentation Errata

This section describes documentation errata. It includes the following topics:

35.2.1 Location of Deinstaller

The "Deinstalling Oracle WebCenter Content" section of the Oracle WebCenter Content Quick Installation Guide has a different location for the deinstaller than the Oracle WebCenter Content Installation Guide, which provides the correct location. The Quick Installation Guide should have the following instructions to start the deinstaller.

Start the Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g WebCenter Content Installer with the -deinstall option from the bin subdirectory of the oui directory in your WebCenter Content Oracle home:

  • UNIX command: WC_CONTENT_ORACLE_HOME/oui/bin/runInstaller -deinstall

  • Windows command: WC_CONTENT_ORACLE_HOME\oui\bin\setup.exe -deinstall

35.2.2 Managed Server Name for Oracle Information Rights Management

The "Starting Managed Servers" section of the Oracle WebCenter Content Quick Installation Guide has an error in this example of a Managed Server name for Oracle Information Rights Management:

IRM_server1 (Oracle I/PM)

The correct example follows:

IRM_server1 (Oracle IRM)

35.2.3 Procedure for Applying Oracle WSM Policies to Web Services

The "Applying Oracle WSM Policies to Web Services" section of the Oracle WebCenter Content Installation Guide describes a procedure for attaching policies to web services through the Oracle WebLogic Server Administration Console. This procedure does not work because web services are not visible from the Administration Console.

You can use Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Fusion Middleware Control to apply Oracle WSM policies to web services. For more information, see "Attaching Policies to Web Services" in the Oracle Fusion Middleware Security and Administrator's Guide for Web Services.
