The light table is a type of property editor that you use to organize a category’s fixed child products collection. Artists and photographers use light tables to illuminate and organize media like photograph negatives and artwork for publication. Similarly, you use the light table in Merchandising to organize products in a category using product images.

In the following illustration, the light table shows the fixed child products collection for a category called Glassware:

Each tile represents a product in the collection. Move your mouse pointer over a tile to see controls you use to reorder or remove the product.

You can use the light table to reorder a category’s fixed child products collection and remove products from it. To work with other types of collections or perform other tasks on the fixed child products collection, edit the asset in the Merchandising Details pane. For more information, see Working with Collection Editors.
