35 Reviewing Profit Recognition Status (Update A9.3)

This chapter contains the topic:

35.1 Printing the Profit Recognition Report

Navigation

From Job Cost (G51), choose Profit Recognition/Job Close

From Profit Recognition & Job Closing (G5122), choose Profit Recognition Report

Use the Profit Recognition report to review data that the system stores in the Profit Recognition file (F5144) after you run the Build Recognition Data program.

Record types values in the F5144 file are:

'1' = Project level

'2' = Job level

'3' = Subledger level

'4' = Revenue Performance Obligation (RPO) level

See Section 31.1, "Estimating Job Profit (Update A9.3)"

When you run the Profit Recognition report, the system produces two reports, the Projected at Completion and Job to Date report (R51445), and the Prior Period Balances and Current Period Balances report (R514451). These two reports both contain information on the same profit recognition records that were selected through the Effective Date processing option and data selection. Each report is ordered by effective date, record type, and business unit.

On these two reports, type 1, 2, and 3 records are grouped by project and ordered by type. There are no subtotals for each record type; instead the amounts are included as part of the grand total at the end of the report. Each detail line contains the project and project description, and is followed by the amount and percentage calculations. If you are printing subledger detail, the line appears after the project detail and the system only prints those subledger fields that are not blank.

On these two reports, type 4 records are grouped by project. The header contains information regarding the job, project, and company, along with the effective date. Type 4 records contain the RPO value in the Subledger field and this is printed on each detail line followed by the amount and percentage calculations. There is a subtotal for each RPO in a project and each project has a new page in the report. The subtotal amounts for each RPO are included as part of the grand total at the end of the report.

Note:

The RPO values are stored in the Subledger field of each profit recognition record in the F5144 table. Since the system prints the RPO as the first field in the detail record, the system does not repeat the subledger and subledger type in the subledger detail section of the report.
