Create SAF error handling resources

Before you begin

Configure JMS system modules

A SAF (store-and-forward) error handling resource specifies the action to be taken when the SAF service fails to forward messages to a remote destination.

To create a SAF error handling resource:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the Administration Console, expand Services > Messaging and select JMS Modules.
  3. In the JMS Modules table, click the name of JMS module in which to configure the error handling resource.
  4. On the module's Settings page, click the New button in the Summary of Resources table.
  5. On the Create a New JMS System Module Resource page, use the Type drop-down to select SAF Error Handling.
  6. Click Next.
  7. On the Error Handling Properties page, define your error handling resource:
    1. Name -- Name for the SAF error handling resource.
    2. Policy -- Specifies the logging policy.
    3. Logging Format -- Specifies the log format when Policy is set to Log.
    4. Error Destination -- Specifies an error destination when Policy is set to Redirect.

Note: Once you create a SAF error handling resource, you cannot rename it. Instead, you must delete it and create another one that uses the new name.

  8. Click OK.
  9. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
