Control Text for the Player and Print Output

After completing this topic, you will be able to control text for the Player and print output.

Steps:

  1. The display is set for Print - See It!/Try It! mode. The text is visible because it is marked to appear in See It!/Try It! mode. It is also marked to appear for both print and player output.

Hide the text for print output.

Note: The text in the bubble text pane has been selected for you.

  2. Step 2
  3. Step 3
  4. Mark the selected text to NOT appear in any print output.

Click the Visible in Print button to deselect it.

    Step 4
  5. Although the text is marked to appear in See It!/Try It! mode, it is now grayed out because Visible in Print is deselected for the text. The Visible in Player/Print settings override the playback mode settings.

    Step 5
  6. Step 6
  7. Step 7
  8. We have previewed the topic for a System Process Document, which uses See It!/Try It! text. Notice that the Procedure section does not include the Explanation frame text.

Even though the text is marked to appear in outputs that use See It!/Try It! mode, hiding the text for print output overrides the text mode markup.
