Steps:
Open the Control Panel.
Click the start button.
Step 1Click the Control Panel list item.
Step 2Double-click the Sounds and Audio Devices list item.
Step 3Set the microphone controls.
Click the Audio tab.
Step 4Select the Volume control for the microphone.
Click the Volume button.
Step 5Make sure that the desired microphone is selected. You can also adjust the volume.
Step 6You may want to turn down the volume for the internal microphone.
Step 7Close the Recording Control.
Click the Close button.
Step 8You can use the Voice tab to test your hardware.
Click the Voice tab.
Step 9Click the Test hardware button.
Step 10Click the Next > button.
Step 11Follow the instructions in the Sound Hardware Test Wizard to test your microphone.
Click the Next > button.
Step 12Follow the instructions in the Sound Hardware Test Wizard to test your speakers.
Click the Next > button.
Step 13Click the Finish button.
Step 14Close the properties for Sounds and Audio Devices.
Click the OK button.
Step 15Close the Control Panel.
Click the Close button.
Step 16You can start the Developer after setting up your microphone.
