Insert a Hyperlink to a Package Item


After completing this topic, you will be able to insert a hyperlink to a package item.


Steps:

  1. Select the text you want to use as the hyperlink hotspot.

     

    Double-click the word letter to select it.

  2. Hyperlink the selected text to a package item.

     

    Click the Insert menu.

  3. Click the Hyperlink command.

  4. It is at this point that you would choose the type of hyperlink target you want to use, either Document in Library or URL.

     

    The link we are creating is to a document in the Library. This option is already selected.

  5. Browse to the location in the Library where the target document is stored. The document we are linking is in the Content/Attachments folder.

     

    Double-click the Content folder.

  6. Double-click the Attachments folder.

  7. The default type shows both Packages and Web pages. You can change the Type to filter the list to display packages only or web pages only.

  8. Open the package where the target document exists.

     

    Double-click the Customer Files package.

  9. Click the cover letter.txt package file.

  10. Click the OK button.

  11. The presence of the hyperlink is indicated by the underlining of the selected text.
