After completing this topic, you will be able to add a new group.
Steps:
Note: You must be logged on as an Administrator to use this feature.
Step 1Create a new group for authors developing training for the Human Resources department.
Click the Administration menu.
Step 2Click the Manage Groups command.
Step 3Click the Add new group button.
Step 4Name the group.
Click in the Group Name field.
Step 5Enter the desired information into the Group Name field. Enter "HR Team".
Step 6Add a description.
Click in the Description field.
Step 7Enter the desired information into the field. Enter "HR training team".
Step 8Add the group members.
Click the Members tab.
Step 9Add ADecarlo to the group.
Click the ADecarlo option.
Step 10Add EKramer to the group.
Click the EKramer option.
Step 11Add the group permissions.
Click the Permissions tab.
Step 12Restrict the group members to Read permission for the System folder.
Click the Add button.
Step 13Click the System folder.
Step 14Click the OK button.
Step 15The folder is added with Modify permission. Change the permission to Read.
Click the Permission list button.
Step 16Click the Read list item.
Step 17Click the OK button to close the Add Group dialog box.
Step 18Click the Close button to close the Group Management dialog box.
Step 19We will switch profiles to an author who is a member of the HR Team group.
Step 20ADecarlo is a member of the HR Team group, which has Read permission for the contents of the System folder.
The author has Read permission for the System folder and all of its subfolders.
