The Suggest Questions dialog box shows questions that are associated with the selected document, or linked in the outline to the selected parent document (module or section) as a child document, but are not included in the selected assessment. For example, if you open Suggest Questions for a topic in the outline, the questions listed all have their Associated Content property set for the topic but are not included in the selected assessment. The suggested questions may be part of another assessment, such as a pre-assessment, or just independent questions in the Library. If the selected outline item is a parent document, the list includes any questions directly associated with the parent or with a child document, and questions linked in the outline (as inline questions) to the parent or any of its children.
In addition to listing the questions and topics associated with a document, the Suggest Questions list provides additional columns of information including the reason for suggesting a question or topic;
Add: This column shows an empty checkbox next to each question or topic in the list. Select a checkbox to add the question or topic to the selected assessment.
Name: This column displays the name of the suggested question or topic.
Type: This column indicates if the suggested question is a question or topic.
Associated Content: This column indicates the document that is associated with the question through the Associated Content property. See Associated Content Property under Question Properties in the View Document Properties chapter for information about setting the Associated Content property for a question.
In Outline: A checkmark in this column indicates that the reason for suggesting the question or topic for a selected document is that the question or topic is a child document linked to the outline, but not included in the assessment.
Associated with Selection: A checkmark in this column indicates that the question is associated with the selected document or one of its child documents, but is not included in the assessment.
Tip: The questions that appear in Suggest Questions may be associated with the outline document but linked to another assessment. For example, you may want to include separate questions in your pre- and post-assessments, so several questions may be associated with the same document. If you add a question to one assessment that is already linked to another assessment, the question will appear in both assessments. If you wish to use unique questions in each assessment, you can indicate which questions belong to which assessments by appending the assessment name to the question name. You can also create separate folders for each assessment and its questions. Then the Path column for each question will tell you the assessment for which the question is designed.
Path: This column displays the location in the Library of the suggested question or topic.
Note: You can undo your actions in the Assessment Coverage view until you select a different assessment from the Select an assessment list.
The Associated Content property is an attribute of the question, therefore the question must be checked out to you to associate it with a document. However, the content that is being associated does not have to be checked out.
The Assessment document must be checked out to add a new question. The system automatically checks out the assessment and question when you associate a question with a document.
