Edit a View

After completing this topic, you will be able to edit a view.

Steps:

1. Edit the Topics in Excel Folder view so that it displays Excel topics that contain more than 10 frames.

   Step 1

2. Open Manage Views.

    

   Click the View menu.

   Step 2

3. Click the Manage Views command.

   Step 3

4. Select the view you want to edit.

    

   Click the Topics in Excel Folder view.

   Step 4

5. Click the Edit button.

   Step 5

6. Rename the view.

    

   Enter the desired information into the View name field. Enter "Large Excel Topics".

   Step 6

7. Change the sort for the view.

    

   Click the Sort tab.

   Step 7

8. Click the Sort items by list.

   Step 8

9. Sort by the Frames column.

    

   Click the Frames list item.

   Step 9

10. Change the sort order to descending order.

     

    Click the Descending option.

11. Add a secondary sort.

     

    Click the Then by list.

    Step 11

12. Sort by the Path column.

     

    Click the Path list item.

    Step 12

13. Change the filter for the new view.

     

    Click the Filter tab.

14. Add a new filter to limit the display to those topics in the Excel folder that contain more than 10 frames.

     

    Click the Add button.

15. Click the Column list.

    Step 15

16. Add the Frames column to the filter.

     

    Click the Frames list item.

17. Specify the condition.

     

    Click the Condition list.

    Step 17

18. Click the is more than list item.

    Step 18

19. Specify the value for the condition.

     

    Double-click in the Value field.

    Step 19

20. Enter the desired information into the Value field. Enter "10".

21. Click the Apply button to apply the changes to the view.

22. Click the OK button to close the View Editor

    Step 22

23. Click the Close button to close Manage Views.

24. Notice that the view shows only topics stored in the Excel folder that contain more than 10 frames.
