Use the Recorder Deskband in Automatic Record

After completing this topic, you will be able to automatically record topics with sound.

Steps:

1. You want to automatically record screenshots and sound at the same time. Change the options to automatic recording with sound.

    

   Click the Tools menu.

   Step 1

2. Click the Options command.

   Step 2

3. Click the Recorder category.

   Step 3

4. Select the automatic recording option.

    

   Click the Automatically record screenshots option.

   Step 4

5. Enable sound recording with topic recording.

    

   Click the Record sound with topic option.

   Step 5

6. Change the Pause key.

    

   Click the Sound pause key list.

   Step 6

7. Change the pause key to F6.

    

   Click the F6 list item.

   Step 7

8. Save the changes and close the Options dialog box.

    

   Click the OK button.

9. Start the topic recording.

    

   Click the Record Topic button.

   Step 9

10. Click the WordPad title bar to activate the application window.

    Step 10

11. Press PrintScreen to start the sound recording for the Introduction frame.

     

    Press [PrintScreen].

    Step 11

12. The Recorder disappears. Record the audio for the Introduction frame.

     

    For example, "In this topic, you will learn how to wrap text to the ruler or window."

13. The Deskband displays in the Windows taskbar. If you have hidden your taskbar, point to the bottom of the screen to make it visible.

     

    Point to the bottom of the screen.

14. The Deskband appears in the taskbar. The VU meter in the deskband indicates your sound amplification. Use the other buttons in the deskband to pause and restart the sound recording and open the Recording Control dialog box.

15. Press PrintScreen to start the topic recording.

     

    Press [PrintScreen].

16. Record the audio for the first step.

     

    For example, "To open the Options dialog box, click the View menu."

17. Perform the action for the first step.

     

    Click the View menu.

18. Record the audio for the next step.

     

    For example, "Click the Options command."

    Click the Options command.

20. Record the audio for the next step.

     

    For example, "You can wrap the text to the window or to the ruler. Click the Wrap to ruler option."

21. Perform the action for the step.

     

    Click the Wrap to ruler option.

22. Record the audio for the next step.

     

    For example, "Click the OK button."

23. Perform the action for the step.

     

    Click the OK button.

24. Record the audio for the End frame.

     

    For example, "The text in the WordPad window wraps to the ruler."

25. Press PrintScreen to end the recording.

     

    Press [PrintScreen].
