The Show In option overrules other frame and play mode controls during publishing. For example, if you disable a frame for See It!/Try It! mode, then the frame will not appear even if the text is marked as visible in See It!/Try It! mode.

Note: The HTML Web Site publishing format produces a static version of Try It! mode. Therefore, frames that are disabled for See It!/Try It! mode will not appear in the published HTML output.

Document Output

When you publish a document based on a play mode, publishing skips those frames which are hidden for that play mode, and ignores any other bubble text and screenshot inclusion settings for the frame. Conversely, enabling a play mode in the Show In list does NOT guarantee that the frame will be included in the published output. If a frame is set to show for a play mode, then publishing evaluates if the custom text is marked for both the selected play mode and to appear in print, and if the screenshot is marked for inclusion in publishing. See Use Screenshot Publishing in the Manipulate Frames section of the Use the Topic Editor chapter for more information about screenshot inclusion.

Warning! If a published topic includes an alternative action or path where the primary action/path is hidden, the alternative action or path will NOT be included in the published document even if the Include alternatives publishing option is enabled.
