To make your type-ahead text available to end users:
Place your type-ahead text XML file or files in the following directory of your Search Administration server:
<ATG10dir>/home/localconfig/atg/searchadmin/customizations/auxiliary_dataIn Search Administration, create a new project. In the project’s General settings, select No Content Items in This Search Project.
After creating the project, go to the project’s Content page and select Auxiliary Data from the Post-Index Customization Add Item list.
Check the type-ahead search customization you want to associate with the project.
Click Save to save your selections and return to the Content page.
Build the index.
If you expect to update the type-ahead values regularly, set up automatic indexing rules. Note that you cannot use incremental indexing for customization data, but must use the Full Index option.
Your type-ahead values are now available for retrieval by your customer-facing site. You must implement code in your JSPs to issue the appropriate requests to retrieve those values when customers begin typing in a search field.
