============================================================================= Endeca Merchandising Workbench GENERAL (1.0.1) - Release Date: October 2008 - The release notes may have been updated since the release date. Access the Product Downloads section of the Endeca Developer Network (https://eden.endeca.com) for the most recent version of the release notes. BUG FIXES: (1.0.1) Merchandising Workbench: - Bug Fix (BUG14440): Fixed an issue in the dimension ordering page where the order of dimension values do not display properly after a server restart or setting the instance configuration. - BUG14182: Fixed an issue where duplicate properties appeared on the Advanced tab of the Rule Manager. This issue occured when more than one style had the same templated property name and one of the names was populated. - BUG13973: Fixed an error message that does not display properly when a single rule is invalid in the active group. - BUG13841: Fixed a bug where setting the instance configuration for one application affected another application's rule group visibility. - BUG13585: Improved the performance of Merchandising Workbench when saving dynamic business rules. - BUG12840: Added a WebStudioMDEX EAC property that specifies which MDEX Engine is used by Merchandising Workbench for preview status information. In addition, added a WebStudioSkipConfigUpdate EAC property that specifies which Dgraphs should not be updated with changes made to the instance configuration in Merchandising Workbench. - OE2216: Fixed stylesheet to properly display status messages including "Preview App settings have been saved." and "Stop Words have been saved. Run a baseline update for these changes to take effect." - OE1642: Added application name back into the main Workbench frame. - OE1666: Added version number to login page and below copyright. - BUG14197: Changed version number on login page to include the patch number. Page Builder: - OE2657: The Content Tree no longer allows users with edit permissions to change or remove cartridges in pages marked as Active. In this case, the context menu no longer contains options for changing or removing the cartridge. - OE2306: Fixed an issue in single group mode where a user whose lock had previously been broken could not re-acquire the lock in the Page Builder even if no other user had a lock on landing pages. - OE2240: When the Merchandising Workbench was SSL-enabled, IE6 and IE7 would not load the Page Builder. This issue was caused by a known IE behavior that prevents it from loading flash content over a secure connection when an application indicates that content should not be cached. This fix introduces a configuration change to the Merchandising Workbench context configuration file for the Endeca HTTP service, enabling IE to load Page Builder over SSL, while continuing to prevent caching of the dynamic flash content. - OE2209: Previously, there was no visual indication in the Page Builder that there were unsaved changes after a user reprioritized landing pages. Now an asterisk appears next to the group name (or the label "List View" in single group mode) at the top of the page whenever there are unsaved changes to the landing page group. Merchandising Workbench also prompts the user to save changes before logging out. - OE2107: If a user's lock was broken when there were unsaved changes to landing pages, and the user then clicked "Save All Changes," the Page Builder used to incorrectly display the "Changes have been saved" confirmation. The Page Builder now displays the correct error message and returns the user to the Group View. - OE2056: The Content Details Panel no longer allows users with edit permissions to change cartridges, remove cartridges, or change the record list selection in pages marked as Active. In this case, the buttons to Change or Remove cartridges or Select Records are disabled. - OE1655: When the user did not specify any search terms or refinements in the Add/Modify Location dialog box and clicked "Apply only at this exact location", the message "Making a page the site's home page will remove all other locations." used to display. The warning has been corrected to "No location specified. You must specify a search term or at least one refinement". - OE1661: Fixed a problem where the wrong default thumbnail image appeared in the Cartridge Selector in the Page Builder. emgr_update: - OE2016: Setting and removing templates with emgr_update no longer requires a lock on unrelated resources. ============================================================================= GENERAL (1.0.0 Revision A) - Updated: June 26, 2008 - Revision A consists of an update to this release note file. The software has not changed since the 1.0.0 release. KNOWN ISSUES (1.0.0 Revision A) Merchandising Workbench: - OE2218: If the MDEX Engine cannot be contacted during preview, no error message displays in the Page Builder, but the preview application and the status messages do not update. - OE2217: In the Add/Modify Location dialog box or the Select Records dialog box of the Page Builder, the refinement tree can sometimes become hidden when a user is navigating the dimension values. If the user clicks in the area where the tree should display then it is no longer hidden, but the dimension names may be wrong or misleading. Scrolling up and down in the tree refreshes the labels with the correct information. The refinement tree can also be reset by closing the dialog box and opening it again. - OE2216: In Internet Explorer 6, certain status messages display as white text on a white background. The text can be read by highlighting the status message area. This issue does not affect IE7. - OE2209: If a user reprioritizes a page in the Page Builder and then enters preview mode without saving changes, the preview application and status messages do not reflect the unsaved changes. To ensure that preview shows the desired behavior, always save changes before previewing. - OE2107: If a user's lock is broken when there are unsaved changes to landing pages, and the user then clicks "Save All Changes," the message "Changes have been saved" displays although the changes are not actually saved. - OE1619: If a user has a lock on a rule group from the Page Builder and then tries to access the same rule group in the Rule Manager, the rules in the Rule Manager are read-only as if another user had locked the group. The workaround is to break the locks between using the Page Builder and the Rule Manager. Documentation: - OE2226: The Merchandising Workbench Help has a "Basic Endeca Concepts" heading that does not show subtopics. This has been fixed for the version of the help accessible on the Endeca Developer Network (EDeN). ============================================================================= GENERAL (1.0.0) - Release Date: June 2008 - The release notes may have been updated since the release date. Access the Product Downloads section of the Endeca Support Center (https://support.endeca.com) for the most recent version of the release notes. - Endeca Merchandising Workbench features the new Endeca Page Builder, a powerful template-based merchandising tool that enables rapid creation of rich, dynamic landing pages. Page Builder gives the merchandiser unprecedented control over site content without need for IT intervention. INSTALLATION AND MIGRATION (1.0.0) Endeca Merchandising Workbench 1.0.0 is available only as an upgrade to Web Studio in version 5.1.3 of the Endeca Information Access Platform. For installation instructions and a detailed list of changes since IAP version 5.1.3, see the "Endeca Merchandising Workbench Installation and Migration Guide." BUG FIXES (1.0.0) Merchandising Workbench: The following bug fixes have been made since Web Studio version 5.1.3: - BUG13741: Entering a preview application URL longer than 255 characters caused an error. Preview application URLs can now be up to 512 characters long. If a preview application URL longer than 512 characters is entered in Merchandising Workbench, it is truncated. - BUG12881: If dimensions were created using default mapping (the "If no mapping is found, map source properties to Endeca Dimensions" option in Developer Studio), then Discovered and saved in the instance configuration, Merchandising Workbench displayed an error if the source property that created a dimension no longer existed in the data. This issue has been fixed. - BUG12754: Self-pivot was not set for rules where the trigger and target shared dimension values in Web Studio, and the self-pivot option was not available. In Merchandising Workbench 1.0.0, self-pivot is enabled by default, and the option can be made available in the Rule Manager through a configuration parameter to the Endeca HTTP service. - BUG11994: A drop-down list displayed in the Merchandising Workbench login page to choose an application even if only one application was available. In the case where there is only one application, the drop-down list has been replaced with a static label. emgr_update: - BUG12763: Running emgr_update with an --action of set_post_forge_dims used to fail if any instance-configuration component (including thesaurus, rule groups, or keyword redirects) was locked by a Merchandising Workbench user. The emgr_update utility now only attempts to lock resources of type FORGEOUTDIMS and should thus succeed unless this specific resource type is locked. =============================================================================
