After completing this topic, you will be able to use Player options.
Steps:
Publish the Document Basics module for the Player and Standalone Topic Files.
Step 1Use the menu to start the publishing process.
Click the File menu.
Step 2Click the Publish command.
Step 3Publish to the default publishing destination.
Click the Next > button.
Step 4Publish the selection only.
Click the Publish selection only option.
Step 5Continue setting the publishing options.
Click the Next > button.
Step 6When you publish a different content selection to a destination folder that already contains published content, you are asked if you wish to replace the existing content. If you continue, the results depend on the type of format you are publishing.
Note: If you did not want to replace the published content, you would click the Cancel button and publish to another publishing destination.
Step 7Publish the content to the same publishing destination and replace the old content.
Click the Continue button.
Step 8Choose the desired deployment option.
In this example, click the Player and LMS check box.
Step 9Change the color of the marquee to blue.
Click the Marquee color button.
Step 10Select the desired color.
Click the Blue (5th column, 4th row) option.
Step 11Click the OK button.
Step 12Click the scroll bar to show all of the options for the Player Preferences.
Step 13Do not allow users to change their preferences.
Click the Enable users to change their Player preferences option to deselect it.
Step 14Do not allow users to press Enter to skip steps in Try It! mode.
Click the Enable skipping in Try It! mode option to deselect it.
Step 15Click the Standalone Topic Files checkbox.
Step 16Publish the two deployments.
Click the Publish button.
Step 17The Publishing Process begins publishing the Player Package.
Step 18The Publishing Process continues publishing the Standalone Topic Files.
Step 19When the publishing is complete, select the option to view the folder where the content was published.
Notice that when you publish more than one deployment, the option to launch the content is not active.
Click the Open the folder where the content was published option.
Step 20Select the Finish button to open the publishing folder.
Click the Finish button.
Step 21Open the PlayerPackage folder to view the contents.
Double-click the PlayerPackage list item.
Step 22Use the Play.exe file to launch the Player.
Double-click the play.exe list item.
Step 23We have expanded the outline in the Player for you.
Step 24Click the Printing a Document topic.
Step 25Click the Try It! button.
Step 26Click the start link.
Step 27Notice that the marquee is blue instead of red.
Step 28Press [Enter] to skip the step.

Click the Close button.
Step 33In Windows Explorer, click the Back button in the toolbar to move back to the previous folder.
Step 34Open the folder containing the published standalone topic files.
Double-click the TPC folder.
Step 35Double-click the Opening a Document.odtpc file to open the topic.
Step 36View the topic in Do It! mode.
Click the Do It! option and click OK.
Step 37Click the OK button.
Step 38The Do It! window opens on your desktop.
Click the Close button on the Do It! window.
