Size Columns


After completing this topic, you will be able to size columns.


Steps:

  1. To resize columns, you will drag the column border to the left to decrease the column size and to the right to increase the column size.

    Step 1

  2. In the bottom work area, reduce the width of the Name column so that the information in the column is truncated.

     

    Press the left mouse button and drag the right border of the Name column to the desired location.

  3. Release the mouse button.

  4. The ellipsis (...) after document names indicates the names that are truncated.

  5. We have reduced the width of the Last modified date column for you so that the information in the column is truncated.

  6. Enlarge the width of the Type column.

     

    Press the left mouse button and drag the right border of the Type column to the desired location.

  7. Release the mouse button.

  8. Autofit the Name column.

     

    Right-click the Name column header.

  9. Click the Best Fit command.

  10. Autofit all of the columns in the bottom work area.

     

    In the bottom work area, right-click any column header.

  11. Click the Best Fit (all columns) command.

  12. All of the columns are resized to fit the column content.
