Delete a Glossary Term


After completing this topic, you will be able to delete a glossary term and update glossary links.


Steps:

  1. Delete the "file" glossary term.

    Step 1
  2. Select the row for the "file" glossary term.

     

    To select the entire row, click the selection box to the left of the "file" glossary term.

  3. Delete the selected glossary term.

     

    Click the Edit menu.

  4. Click the Delete command.

  5. The "file" glossary term is deleted from the WordPad Terms glossary.

  6. Save the changes made to the glossary using the toolbar button.

     

    Click the Save button.

  7. Because you have changed the glossary, you should update the glossary links.

     

    Click the Edit menu.

  8. Click the Update Glossary Links command.

  9. View the activity log for the Glossary Update.

     

    Click the View activity log link.

  10. Close the activity log.

     

    Click the Close button.

  12. Switch to the WordPad Training outline.

     

    Click the WordPad Training tab.

  13. Notice the change to the text "file" in the Concept pane. The glossary link is removed for the deleted term.

  14. Switch to the WordPad Terms glossary.

     

    Click the WordPad Terms glossary tab.

  15. Undo the glossary deletion using the toolbar button.

     

    Click the Undo button.

  16. Close the WordPad Terms glossary.

     

    Click the Close button.

  17. Save the changes made to the glossary and update the glossary links.

     

    Click the Save the glossary and update the links option.

  19. Click the OK button to confirm the update.

  20. The glossary link appears again for the term "file" in the Concept pane.
