Configuring Or Unconfigure a SATA Device

Use one of the following command syntaxes depending on the operation you want to perform:

  • cfgadm -c configure controller – configures a SATA controller.

  • cfgadm -c unconfigure controller – unconfigures a SATA controller.

In both commands, controller refers to the SATA HBA Ap_Id, such as sata0/0. For more information about the Ap_Id, see About Attachment Point Identification.

The following example configures c7t0d0.

# cfgadm -c configure c7t0d0

The following example shows the state of c7t0d0 after it has been configured.

# cfgadm | grep sata0/0
sata0/0 disk connected unconfigured ok
