A new group package, solaris-minimal-server, installs the smallest possible set of Oracle Solaris packages. Fewer packages reduce potential system vulnerabilities, provide faster system updates, faster system cloning, and faster backup in the cloud. See the Oracle Solaris 11.2 system requirements for an estimate of the amount of disk space needed for an image installed with this new group package.
