A) - Release Date: May 2013 - This release is compatible with the Oracle Endeca Server 7.5.1.x release. - The release notes may have been updated since the release date. For the most recent version of the release notes, access the Oracle Documentation page at http://docs.oracle.com. INSTALLATION (3.0.0 Rev. A) - See the "Integrator Acquisition System Installation Guide" for installation information. BUG FIXES (3.0.0 Rev. A) Documentation * IAS-6: The "Integrator Acquisition System Developer's Guide" has been updated and published in the IAS 3.0.0 Rev. A release. Additional IAS documentation will become available in subsequent releases. * IAS-10: The "Integrator Acquisition System Web Crawler Guide" has been updated and published in the IAS 3.0.0 Rev. A release. Additional IAS documentation will become available in subsequent releases. KNOWN ISSUES (3.0.0 Rev. A) IAS Server: * BUG13888 (IFDI-121): When validating CMS crawl configurations, the IAS Server can become unresponsive. The IAS Server validates CMS crawl configurations by establishing a test connection to the CMS data source. If this validation is slow, the IAS Server can be unresponsive until the test connection either succeeds or fails. The IAS Server log setting of INFO logs when calls to updateCrawl or createCrawl start and end. * BUG15414 (CLI-6901): The ias-service.log is not recreated if you manually delete it and do not restart the IAS Service. Restarting the IAS service recreates the log file. IAS Installer: * BUG17414 (CLI-7329): If IAS was installed on Windows by a user with Administrator privileges and the User Account Control (UAC) was enabled, the user cannot edit the configuration files. Attempts to edit the configuration files will fail with a message about insufficient permissions. The workarounds for this issue include: giving the individual user the necessary file permissions to edit the files, running the file editing programs as an Administrator, or disabling the UAC. * BUG17422 (CLI-7333): When installing IAS silently on Windows as a user with Administrator privileges and with the UAC enabled, Windows prompts for a confirmation of the installation. This prompt makes the silent installation no longer silent. * BUG15532 (IFDI-193: When uninstalling IAS on Windows, all folders under IAS\version might not be removed. This is often the case when you configure a CMS Connector by copying files, such as JARs, into the installation directory. After uninstalling the software, examine the contents of IAS\version and backup and delete any remaining folders. The same is true for IAS\workspace. Although the uninstall procedure backs up the workspace folder, it may not succeed in deleting it. Web Crawler * IAS-11 and IAS-13: The sample Web crawls do not produce output because they are configured to crawl www.endeca.com (that domain is inactive). IAS Document Conversion Module * The Document Conversion Module cannot process documents whose path is longer than 256 characters. If a path to a document is longer than 256 characters, the Endeca record for that document will have an Endeca.Document.TextExtraction.Error property with a value of "error opening document - invalid spec". To work around this issue, enable the makeLocalCopy option in the crawlConfig file so that every document is copied to a local temporary directory and then converted. Documentation * The "Integrator Acquisition System Installation Guide", the "Integrator Acquisition System Developer's Guide", and the "Integrator Acquisition System Web Crawler Guide" are available in the IAS 3.0.0 Rev. A release. Additional documentation will become available in subsequent releases. ====================================================================== Oracle Endeca Integrator Acquisition System (IAS) GENERAL (3.0.0) - Release Date: March 2013 - This release is compatible with the Oracle Endeca Server 7.5.1 release. - The release notes may have been updated since the release date.
