The figure depicts a 3 tier systems architecture. The bottom tier represents the telecom network. Online Mediation Controller is the middle tier. The Interworking Modules (IM), R-IM and Orchestration Engine components are shown inside the Online Mediation Controller tier. Signaling Server Units (SSUs) are shown as the integration points between Online Mediation Controller and both the OCS and Telecom Network tiers. Additional information on IMs is in the section below. The top tier represents the online charging system. Bi-directional arrows connect each tier representing the flow of charging requests and responses between the tiers.
