This figure shows a three-tier deployment. It consists of four systems. The first two systems contain Collectors, who receive data from a TAP device, and forward it to the third system, which contains a Processing Engine. While doing so, it interacts with the scratch databases, who forward their data to the data database. The Reporter controls the contents of the Configuration database, which are pushed to the Collector and Processing Engine modules. The Reporter also consumes data from the data database.
