7.56 Kdump Service No Longer Functions After Upgrading Oracle VM Server

If you have manually installed and configured the kdump service on Oracle VM Server Release 3.2.10 or Release 3.3.x, and you then upgrade Oracle VM Server to Release 3.4.x, the kdump service no longer functions. This issue occurs because the kdump service in Oracle VM Server Release 3.4.x uses GRUB2 for configuration. During the upgrade process, the kdump settings you manually define in the GRUB configuration are not transferred to the GRUB2 configuration.

Workaround: Configure the kdump service on Oracle VM Server after the upgrade successfully completes. For more information, see Manually Configuring kdump for Oracle VM Server in the Oracle VM Administrator's Guide.
