8. SWIFTNet Maintenances

This chapter discusses the maintenances required for enabling bulking and SWIFTNet connectivity in Messaging module.

8.1 Distinguished Names

This section contains the following topics:

8.1.1 Defining Distinguished Names

You can define Distinguished Name (DN) to uniquely identify an entity that sends or receives messages over SWIFTNet. Distinguished name follow an X.500 compliant naming convention.

For further details, refer to the SWIFTNet Naming and Address Guide in SWIFT documentation.

To invoke the 'Distinguished Name Definition' screen, type 'MSDDSTNM' in the field at the top right corner of the application toolbar and click the adjoining arrow button.

Specify the followingde tails:

Distinguished Name

Speciy a distinguished name to identify the entity that sends or receives messages over SWIFTNet.

You can define a Distinguished name with a maximum of 100 characters in lower case.

Description

Specify a brief description of the distinguished name, not exceeding 250 characters.

Once you have captured the details, click Save button.

8.1.2 Viewing Distinguished Name Summary

You can view a summary of distinguished names maintained in the system using 'Distinguished Name Summary' screen. To invoke the screen, type 'MSSDSTNM' in the field at the top right corner of the application toolbar and click the adjoining arrow button.

You can search the records based on one or more of the following parameters:

Once you have specified the search parameters, click 'Execute Query' button. The system displays the following details of the records that match the search criteria.

8.2 Protocol Parameters

8.2.1 Defining Protocol Parameters

You can define protocol parameters using 'Protocol Parameter Definition' screen. To invoke the screen, type 'MSDPTPRM' in the field at the top right corner of the application toolbar and click the adjoining arrow button.

Specify the following details:

Protocol Parameter Name

Specify a unique name that identifies the protocol parameter.

Description

Specify a brief description of the protocol parameter set.

Overlapping Parameter Set

You can define overlapping parameters for the protocol in the grid.

Parameters

Specify the parameter name. The option list displays all valid parameters maintained in the system. You can add more rows to the list of parameters using Add button.

You need to define at least one parameter in order to save the maintenance.

Value

Specify the value of the parameter.

Once you have specified the above details, save the maintenance.

8.2.2 Viewing Protocol Parameter Definition Summary

You can view the summary of protocol parameters maintained in the system using 'Protocol Parameter Definition Summary' screen. To invoke the screen, type 'MSSPTPRM' in the field at the top right corner of the application toolbar and click the adjoining arrow button.

You can search for the records based on one or more of the following parameters.

Once you have set the search criteria, click 'Execute Query' button. The system displays the following details of the records that match the search criteria.

8.3 File Transfer Adapter (FTA) Connector

8.3.1 Defining File Transfer Adapter (FTA) Connector

You can configure file transfer adapter connectors using 'SWIFTNet FTA Connector Definition' screen. To invoke the screen, type 'MSDFTACN' in the field at the top right corner of the application toolbar and click the adjoining arrow button.

Specify the following details:

FTA Connector Name

Specify a unique name to identify the FTA SWIFTNet connector.

Operation Mode

Specify the mode of operation. You can select one of the following operation modes:

File Directory

Specify the location of the file directory. This is the directory where the system stores the details of emission directory for outbound connectivity and reception directory for inbound flow. The payload files are also placed in this directory.

Log Directory

Specify the path of the directory where the responses from the SAG will be placed.

Success Directory

Specify the path of the directory where outbound connectivity delivery notification response related to file transfer status from the SAG will be placed. For inbound connectivity file transfer, the success status files are also placed in this folder.

Node

Select the node from the adjoining option list. You can get the Inbound Folder path through node. This field is mandatory for Inbound Operation mode only.

Parameter File Required

Check this box to indicate that parameter file is required. This is checked if FCM (FLEXCUBE Messaging) creates/receives a parameter file corresponding to each data file in configured file directory, along with a data file.

Data File LAU

Check this box if FCM calculates the LAU of data file and adds the calculated value in the Signature tag of the companion file for outbound messages.

Override

Check this box to for overriding parameters defined at emission profile of SAG side by information in companion file.

Companion LAU

If you check this box, the FCM system will calculate the LAU of the companion file and add the calculated value in the parameter file.

Once you have captured the details, save the maintenance.

8.3.2 Viewing File Transfer Adapter Connector Configuration Summary

You can view s summary of FTA connector configurations in 'SWIFTNet FTA Connector Summary' screen. To invoke this screen, type 'MSSFTACN' in the field at the top right corner of the application toolbar and click the adjoining arrow button.

You can search for the records based on one or more of the following parameters:

Once you have specified the search criteria, click 'Execute Query' button. The system displays the following details of the records that match the search criteria.

8.4 Bulking Preferences

This section contains the following topics:

8.4.1 Setting Preferences for Bulking

You can set the preferences for bulking the messages using 'Bulking Preference Definition' screen. To invoke this screen, type 'MSDBLKRL' in the field at the top right corner of the application toolbar and click the adjoining arrow button.

Specify the following details:

Bulking Preference Name

Specify a unique name to identify the bulk preferences that you are maintaining.

Scheduler

Size Restriction Required?

Check this box to enable size based trigger. The system will consider maximum bulk size that you maintain in this screen for grouping the messages for trigger.

Maximum Size of Bulk File (in KB)

Specify the maximum size of bulk files in kilobytes, for size based trigger. This must be a value between 100 and 256000.

Volume Restriction Required?

Check this box to enable volume based trigger. The system will consider maximum number of messages that you maintain in this screen for grouping the messages for trigger.

Maximum Number of Messages

Specify the maximum number of messages to be grouped for volume based trigger.

Scheduler Type

Specify the scheduler type. You can select one of the following options:

Scheduler Timings

Scheduling No

Specify the sequence number of scheduling process per day. You can maintain multiple scheduling processes per day.

Start Hour

Specify the trigger start hour in HH format. You can enter the start hour from 0 to 23.

Start Minute

Specify the minute of the hour at which the trigger should happen, in MM format. The start minutes can be from 0 to 59.

Scheduler Frequency Details

Start Time

Specify the trigger start time in HH:MM format. Start time must be earlier than the end time.

End Time

Specify the trigger end time in HH:MM format. End time must be later than the start time.

Repeat Interval

Specify the repeat interval in MM format.

File Attributes

Bulk File Name Prefix

Specify the prefix required for the bulk file.

Payload Delimiter

Specify the payload delimiter which segregates the messages in bulk files. This delimiter will be used at the end of each message in a bulk file having multiple messages.

Bulk Processing Attributes

Compression Required

Check this box if compression is required. By default, the system leaves this as unchecked. However, you can change it.

Compression Type

Specify the compression type. You can select one of the following options:

If you check the option 'Compression Required', then it is mandatory to specify the compression type.

Destination Attributes

Destination Type

Specify the destination type. You can specify one of the following destination types.

Folder Name

If destination type is 'Folder' or 'SWIFTNet', then you must specify the folder name.

Queue Name

If destination type is 'Queue', then you must specify the queue name.

SwiftNet Connectivity

If the destination type is 'SwiftNet', then you must specify the SwiftNet connectivity.

Protocol Name

Specify the name of the overlapping protocol.

8.4.2 Viewing Summary of Bulking Preference

You can view a summary of bulking preferences maintained in the system using 'Bulking Preference Definition Summary' screen. To invoke this screen, type 'MSSBLKRL' in the field at the top right corner of the application toolbar and click the adjoining arrow button.

8.5 Bulk Rules

This section contains the following topics:

8.5.1 Defining Bulk Rules

You can define bulk rules using 'Bulk Rule Definition' screen. To invoke this screen, type 'MSDRLDFN' in the field at the top right corner of the application toolbar and click the adjoining arrow button.

Specify the following details:

Rule Name

Specify a unique name to identify the rule.

Description

Specify the description of the rule. You can enter a maximum of 250 characters in this field.

Bulk Preference Name

Specify the bulk preference name. The system will map this bulk preference to the bulk rule.

Parameter

Specify the name of the parameter for the rule. The option list displays all valid routing parameters defined in the system. Select the appropriate one.

You can add more rows to the list of parameters using the Add button. You need to maintan at least one parameter in order to save the maintenance.

Operator

Specify the operator. You can select one of the following operators:

Parameter Value

Specify the value of the parameter.

8.5.2 Viewing Summary of Bulk Rule Definition

You can view a summary of bulk rules maintained in the system in 'Bulk Rule Definition Summary' screen. To invoke this screen, type 'MSSRLDFN' in the field at the top right corner of the application toolbar and click the adjoining arrow button.

You can search for the records using one more of the following parameters.

Once you have set the search criteria, click 'Execute Query' button. The system displays ll the records that match the search criteria, with the following details:

8.6 Bulk Rule Priority

This section contains the following topics:

8.6.1 Changing Bulk Rule Priority

You can modify the priority, i.e. the order by which the bulk rules are applied, using 'Bulk Rule Priority Definition' screen. To invoke this screen, type 'MSDRLPRL' in the field at the top right corner of the application toolbar and click the adjoining arrow button.

Specify the following details:

Rule Group Name

The system displays the bulk rule group name.

You can click 'Populate Rules' button to populate all the rules maintained in the system under the multiple entry block.

Bulk Rule Name

The system displays the bulk rule name.

Rule Description

The system displays the bulk rule description.

Rule Priority

The system displays the current priority of the rule.

Move To/Swap To

Specify the new priority to which the current priority should be moved or swapped.

Select a bulk rule and click 'Move' button to change the priority. The records in between are shifted up or down accordingly.

In order to swap the priority, select the bulk rule, specify the priority and click 'Swap' button. The system swaps the selected priority against the priority of this rule.

8.6.2 Viewing Summary of Bulk Rule Priority Definition

You can view a summary of bulk rules priorities maintained in the system using 'Bulk Rule Priority Definition Summary' screen. To invoke this screen, type 'MSSRLPRL' in the field at the top right corner of the application toolbar and click the adjoining arrow button.

You can search for the records based on one or more of the following parameters.

Once you have specified the parameters, click 'Execute Query' button. The system displays the following details of the records that match the selected filter criteria.

8.7 SWIFTNet Services

This section contains the following topics:

8.7.1 Defining SWIFTNet Services

You can maintain details of SWIFTNet services using 'SWIFTNet Service Definition' screen. To invoke this screen, type 'MSDSWTSR' in the field at the top right corner of the application toolbar and click the adjoining arrow button.

Specify the following details:

Service Name

Specify the SWIFT Net service name.

Service Mode

Specify the service mode. You can select one of the folliwing options from the drop-down list:

Requestor DN

Specify the name of the DN that send requests to the service. The option list displays all valid DNs maintained in the system. Select the appropriate one.

You need to specify at least one requestor DN.

Responder DN

Specify the name of the DN that responds to the requests to service. The option list displays all valid DNs maintained in the system. Select the appropriate one.

You need to specify at least one responder DN.

Once you have captured the above details, save the maintenance.

8.7.2 Viewing SWIFTNet Service Summary

You can view a summary of SWIFTNet services maintained in the system using 'SWIFTNet Service Summary' screen. To invoke this screen, type 'MSSSWTSR' in the field at the top right corner of the application toolbar and click the adjoining arrow button.

You can search for the records based on one or more of the following parameters.

Once you have specified the filter criteria, click 'Execute Query' button. The system displays the following details of all records that match the filter criteria.
