Oracle Database Cloud Service (Database Cloud Service) performance and usage can be monitored by observing service metrics and utilization. This section describes the available performance and usage metrics and reports. To learn more about functionality common to all Oracle Cloud Services, see "Operating and Monitoring Cloud Services" in Getting Started with Oracle Cloud.
This section describes the Database Cloud Service performance and usage metrics and how to view utilization reports.

The Utilization report shows how much usage the Database Cloud Service has experienced over a period of time. The report provides usage metrics for the following time periods:
Latest Usage. Last set of metrics collected.
History. Usage metrics per day for the last 7 days.
Metrics provided for each time period include:
Transfer (MB). The amount of data, in megabytes, transferred to and from this service over the specified period of time.
Usage (MB). The amount of database storage used, in megabytes, over the specified period of time.
Use the Utilization page to view a report of Database Cloud Service usage over a specified period of time.

Use the Service Notifications page to monitor the health of your overall system and your individual services.

Use the Status History page to monitor the percentage of time your service was running in a daily, weekly, or monthly view.

You can monitor developer activity and changes to Application Express applications within your service by accessing the Monitor Activity page in the Application Express Builder. The Monitor Activity page features links to over thirty reports that track page views, developer activity, active sessions, login attempts, environment, application errors, and workspace schemas.

To access the Monitor Activity page:
Launch the Database Cloud Service. See "Launching a Database Cloud Service".
From the Application Express Builder, click Administration.
The Administration home page displays.
Click Monitor Activity.
The Monitor Activity page appears.
