This document contains the release notes for the 12c (12.2.0.1.2) release of Oracle GoldenGate Application Adapters.

This document contains the following sections:

1.1 New Features

This section outlines the new features that are being introduced in the release.

1.1.1 Initial Release 12.2.0.1.2 — June 2016

  • Support for DDL propagation for heterogeneous relational databases was added to the AbstractHandler class used in custom handlers.

  • Oracle GoldenGate Application Adapters was certified with new release of Oracle GoldenGate.

  • The Java package names were changed to be compliant with the Oracle Java standard. You must migrate the any previous release custom formatters, handlers, or filters to the new package names.

  • Metadata in trail for both Extract and Replicat processes as the metadata definitions is introduced. Metadata in trail makes the separate source definitions file unnecessary.

1.4 Installation and Upgrades

1.4.1 Installation Instructions

The installation file downloaded from Oracle is not compressed using gzip; instead it is a standard zip file.

1.4.2 Upgrades

This section lists changes in the upgrade procedure for Oracle GoldenGate Application Adapters.

The release 12.1.2.1.1 upgrade process requires additional steps to upgrade the logging configuration.

  • When upgrading from 11.1.x to 12.2.0.1, logging files may be moved to different directories or may no longer exist. Follow the steps outlined in Upgrading Oracle GoldenGate Adapters to upgrade the logging configuration.

  • When upgrading from 12.1.x to 12.2.0.1, there are no additional steps necessary. Follow the steps outlined in Upgrading Oracle GoldenGate Adapters.

1.5 Corrected Problems

Bug DB #number is the number of the Bug DB ticket. For questions on specific tickets or issues, consult Oracle Customer Support.
