Configuring Personal Express When Installed with Express Server

Installing Personal Express with Express Server

Personal Express and Express Server have the same default values for two configuration settings. Consequently, when you install both Personal Express and Express Server on the same Windows NT computer, you need to change the default values for one of these products.

The settings that you need to reconfigure are listed below:

XCAPortNumber setting

The XCAPortNumber setting provides XCA clients with a unique identifier for Personal Express. The default value of this setting is 6543. This number identifies the port number that Personal Express monitors to accept incoming XCA requests.

When Personal Express and Express Server exist on the same Windows NT computer, you must take the following actions:

ServerObjectId setting

The ServerObjectId setting provides SNAPI clients with a unique identifier for Personal Express. The default value of the ServerObjectId setting is the same for both products.
