Oracle® Real Application Clusters Guard Installation Guide
Release 3.3.1 for Windows Part No. A96686-01 |
|
This chapter describes how to deinstall Oracle Real Application Clusters Guard. You might want to deinstall Oracle Real Application Clusters Guard, for example, to move Oracle Real Application Clusters Guard software to another Oracle home.
|
Caution: Do not remove the Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) software without first deinstalling Oracle Real Application Clusters Guard. Removing the MSCS software while Oracle Real Application Clusters Guard is running will cause all MSCS metadata to be deleted, producing undesirable results. |
Deinstalling Oracle Real Application Clusters Guard involves removing resources from groups, then deinstalling the software.
Perform the following steps to remove Oracle Real Application Clusters Guard software.
|
Note: Do not perform step 1 if you are moving Oracle Real Application Clusters Guard to a new Oracle home. |
Step 1 Remove Oracle Real Application Clusters Guard resources from groups.
Invoke Oracle Fail Safe Manager and perform the following tasks:
In the tree view, select a configured Oracle Real Application Clusters database.
On the Real Application Clusters menu, select Unconfigure.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 until all Oracle Real Application Clusters databases on the cluster are unconfigured.
Exit Oracle Fail Safe Manager.
Step 2 Invoke Oracle Universal Installer and deinstall software.
Invoke the Oracle Universal Installer and perform the following tasks:
Click Deinstall Products to display an Inventory dialog box.
Select the Oracle home that contains the Oracle Real Application Clusters Guard software.
Expand the tree view and select the check box next to Oracle Real Application Clusters Guard.
Click Remove.
Click Exit to exit Oracle Universal Installer.
|
Caution: You cannot deinstall only a single component (for example, just Oracle Fail Safe Manager). If you select a single component to be deinstalled, all of Oracle Real Application Clusters Guard will be deinstalled. Therefore, if you want to deinstall a single Oracle Real Application Clusters Guard component from a node that has a number of Oracle Real Application Clusters Guard components installed, you must first deinstall all of the software and then reinstall only the components that you want to keep. |
