Uninstalling

This appendix describes how to uninstall the Java Device Test Suite Central Installation and Relay in these sections:



Note - If you have created reports in CentralInstallDir/admin/, uninstalling deletes th reports.



Uninstalling on a Solaris Operating System

To uninstall the Central Installation, follow these steps:

1. Exit all tester and administrator harnesses.

If the Sun Java System Application Server is not running, launch it.

2. Become root if necessary to remove Central Installation files, then run this command:

% shCentralInstallDir/Uninstall JDTSversion/Uninstall_JDTSversion

CentralInstallDir is the directory in which you installed the Central Installation (see Installing a Central Installation). version is the installed Central Installation version, such as 2.3.

3. When the uninstaller graphical user interface appears, click Next.

4. When the uninstaller finishes, click Done.

Uninstalling can take as long as installing and might appear to be hung. Be patient.



Note - Sometimes the uninstaller cannot remove all components and asks you to restart the computer. If you see such an alert, the uninstaller silently finishes the job after you restart.


After uninstalling, a few files might be left in these directories:

You can delete these directories and their contents with operating system commands.

To uninstall the Sun Java System Application Server, see Appendix B.


Uninstalling in a Windows Environment

To uninstall the Central Installation, follow these steps:

1. Exit all tester and administrator harnesses.

1. If the Sun Java System Application Server is not running, launch it.

2. Open Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.

3. Select JDTSversion, then click Change/Remove.

version is the installed Central Installation version, such as 2.3.

4. When the uninstaller graphical user interface appears, read the screen, then click Uninstall.

5. When the uninstaller finishes, click Done.

Uninstalling can take as long as installing and might appear to be hung. Be patient.

Undeploying the Relay

To undeploy a Relay without uninstaling the Sun Java System Application Server, obtain the name of the Relay’s application context (specified when the Relay was installed, default JdtsServer) and follow these steps:

1. Enter the Sun Java System Application Server’s Administration Console URL in a web browser.

For example: http://localhost:4848.

2. Log into the console with the administrator user name and password.

3. In the Common Tasks column on the left, select Web Applications.

If the Relay’s application context does not appear in the right pane, the Relay has already been undeployed.

4. In the right pane, check the box next to the Relay’s application context name.

5. Click the Undeploy button.
