9 WebLogic Server Migratable Targets

A migratable target is a special target that can migrate from one server in a cluster to another. As such, a migratable target provides a way to group migratable services that should move together. When the migratable target is migrated, all services hosted by that target are migrated. For more information on migratable targets, see "Service Migration" in Using Clusters for Oracle WebLogic Server.

This chapter describes the tasks you can perform to monitor migratable targets.

Monitor migratable targets

To monitor migratable target status:

  1. From the WebLogic Domain dropdown menu, select Environment, then select Migratable Targets.

    The Migratable Targets table displays information about the migratable targets that have been configured in the current domain, such as:

    • Migratable Target Name

    • Migration Policy

    • Cluster

    • User Preferred Server

    • Current Hosting Server

    • Status of Last Migration

    Optionally, select View to access the following table options:

    • Columns: add or remove the columns displayed in the table

    • Detach: detach the table (viewing option)

    • Sort: sort the columns in ascending or descending order

    • Reorder: change the order of the columns displayed

    • Query by Example

  2. In the table, select the name of the migratable target for which you want to view configuration information.

Migrate migratable targets

To migrate a migratable target:

  1. From the WebLogic Domain dropdown menu, select Environment, then select Migratable Targets.

  2. From the Migratable Targets table, select the row of the target you want to migrate.

  3. Click Migrate.

    The Migrate Migratable Targets page is displayed. From the New Hosting Server dropdown menu, select the new hosting server for your migratable target and then click OK.
