Dynamically activate a diagnostic system module

Before you begin

Target the diagnostic system module to a server instance. For more information, see Target and untarget diagnostic system modules.


The WebLogic Diagnostics Framework allows you to dynamically activate a diagnostics system module without making a change to the domain configuration. This capability allows you to activate diagnostic system modules without restarting the targeted server instance or making a change to the domain configuration. Note that if you dynamically activate a diagnostics system module, and restart the targeted server, the module's activation state is reverted to whatever is configured in the domain.

To dynamically activate a diagnostic system module:

  1. In the left pane, select Diagnostics > Diagnostics Modules.
  2. On the Summary of Diagnostic Modules page, select the module you want to activate.
  3. Select Configuration > Control and select the check box next to the server instance to which the module is targeted.
  4. Click Activate.

Result

The selected diagnostics system module is activated for the targeted server. No server restart is necessary. If you subsequently want to dynamically deactivate the module, see Dynamically deactivate a diagnostic system module.
