What's New in This Guide

The following topics introduce the new and changed features of the Upgrade Assistant and other significant changes that are described in this guide, and provides pointers to additional information.

Note:

This guide, Oracle Fusion Middleware Upgrading with the Upgrade Assistant, is new to the Oracle Fusion Middleware library for 12c. Individual upgrade guides will no longer include the basic instructions for using the Upgrade Assistant. Component-specific upgrade guides will document any specific upgrade information related to the component or suite.

New and Changed Features for 12c (12.1.3)

Upgrade Assistant 12c (12.1.3) includes the following new and changed administrative features:

  • Upgrade Assistant performs all configuration upgrades offline. The Administration Servers are expected to be shut down during the Oracle WebLogic component configurations upgrade.

  • The Upgrade Assistant displays the source version of the pre-upgrade schemas and components.

  • Upgrade Assistant can be used to upgrade Oracle SOA and Business Process Management schemas, component configurations, and standalone system component configurations. The separate Patch Set Assistant utility is no longer used for upgrading schemas.
