Override application configuration

You can change the deployment plan of an application or standalone module to override the default application configuration. When a resource group references a resource group template, you can override the default template configuration to customize an application or standalone module in the resource group. The application or module is then redeployed using the new deployment plan for its application configuration.

To override an application or module:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. For domain resource groups: in the left pane of the Console, expand Environment, then select Resource Groups.

For partition resource groups: in the left pane of the Console, select Domain Partitions, then select the name of the partition. Select Resource Groups.

  3. Select the name of the resource group on which the application or module you want to override is deployed.
  4. Select Deployments.
  5. Select the checkbox next to the application or module you want to override.
  6. Click Override.
  7. To select a new deployment plan to use to override the default deployment configuration, click Change Path.
  8. Locate the deployment plan path, and click Next.
  9. Ensure you selected the correct deployment plan path, and click Next.
  10. Review the override settings, and click Finish.

The application will be redeployed using the selected deployment plan for its configuration.

  11. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
