Create outbound credential mappings

Outbound credential mappings let you map WebLogic Server usernames to usernames in the Enterprise Information System (EIS) to which you want to connect using a resource adapter. You can use default outbound credential mappings for all outbound connection pools in the resource adapter, or specify particular outbound credential mappings for individual connection pools.

To configure outbound credential mappings for a resource adapter installed on WebLogic Server:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the left pane of the Console, select Deployments.
  3. In the Deployments table, select the name of the resource adapter you want to configure.
  4. Select Security > Outbound Credential Mapping.
  5. Click New.
  6. Select Resource Adapter Default if you want to create a credential mapping that applies to all outbound connection pools in the resource adapter, or select the individual connection pools for which you want to create a credential mapping.
  7. Click Next.
  8. On the Create a New Security Credential Mapping page, specify information about the WebLogic Server user that you are mapping.
  9. Click Next.
  10. On the EIS User Name and Password page, specify the user name and password in the EIS that should be used by the WebLogic Server user that you are mapping.
  11. Optionally, set or modify the identity domain in which the WebLogic Server user is defined. If configured, the default identity domain is displayed. To change or set the identity domain, enter the name of the identity domain in the field. If no identity domain is required, clear the Identity Domain field.
  12. Click Finish.
