Redwood: Use Redwood-Style Notifications for Item Structure Changes That Require a Work Definition Review

After successful completion of the Process Item Structure Changes to Work Definitions scheduled process, you can view the generated FYI notification for structure changes in Redwood style and format. An FYI notification is generated for scenarios where item structure changes can't be automatically synchronized to the impacted work definitions. For example, when a new component is added to the item structure and a suggested operation sequence isn't specified, or when the supply type of an existing component is modified in the item structure.

The FYI notification provides the change summary and change details for you to review. The Impacted Work Definitions link on the notification opens the Manage Work Definitions page where you can review the work definitions impacted by the item structure changes. The link takes you to either the Redwood page or the Classic page for Manage Work Definitions, based on the profile option ORA_WIS_WORK_DEFINITIONS_REDWOOD_ENABLED. If the profile option is set to Yes, it takes you to the Redwood page. If it's set to No, it takes you to the Classic page.

Tips And Considerations

  • There's no change to the Process Item Structure Changes to Work Definitions scheduled process itself.
  • You can enable and disable the opt-in to view either the Redwood-style or the classic structure changes notification.
  • The Redwood-style structure changes notification uses Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher (BIP). Administrators can personalize the brand logo, styling, and layout of the notification to meet their business needs.
