Redwood Experience for Global Search
Global search controls are available for Permits, Planning and Zoning, Business Licenses, Inspections, and Code Enforcement incidents, cases, and citations. The controls are available for public users and agency users.
For example, a public user can use the global search control on the landing page to search for their transactions.

This takes them to the Global Search page where they can access the requested transaction, or continue to search for other transactions.

Steps to Enable
Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.

The Redwood Experience global search feature uses Oracle Search Cloud Service (OSCS). You need to run an Enterprise Scheduler Service (ESS) job to build the indexes for the areas in the Redwood Experience using global search.
To enable global search:
- Access Functional Setup Manager for your offering.
- Click the Change Feature Opt In link.
- In the System Administration area, enable Redwood Experience for Global Search.
- Click Done.
So that lists display on the associated Redwood Experience pages, you will need to build these indexes by running the following ESS job: ESS job to create index definition and perform initial ingest to OSCS.

Repeat the following steps for each listed index required for your offerings.
To build a search index:
- Sign in as an administrator.
- In Oracle Permitting and Licensing select Navigator > Setup and Maintenance.
- Within Fusion Applications, select Navigator > Tools > Scheduled Processes.
- Click Schedule New Process.
- Search for and open this ESS job: ESS job to create index definition and perform initial ingest to OSCS.

- On the Process Details page, enter the name of the index as the job parameter, such as fa-psc-applications.

- Click Submit.
