Feature Changes in This Release

  • In Oracle SQL Connector for HDFS, the -publish option of the ExternalTable tool now supports partitioned Hive tables. This enables you to add a new Hive partition to an existing OSCH table.

Previously, the publish operation did not work with partitioned Hive sources and the workaround (which as of this release is no longer needed) was to drop and recreate the existing external table.

  • Oracle XQuery for Hadoop now supports XQuery 3.1, including the standard facilities for processing JSON, including: fn:parse-json, fn:json-to-xml, and fn:xml-to-json
