To read data from the LOB, you must create a temporary LOB, which requires that you free a temporary LOB.

You may optionally open a LOB. If you open a LOB, you must close it.

Further, you may optionally enable buffering. To enable buffering, you must first flush the buffer. To flush the buffer, you must disable buffering.
