This is a text description of secarchi.gif, which shows the security architecture of Oracle9i Application Server. Each component of this security architecture is explained in detail in the text following the graphic. From left to right, the components are arranged as follows: At the leftmost side of the diagram is a client. This client communicates to Oracle9iAS Web Cache, then the Web cache communicates to Oracle HTTP Server. The HTTP server can then communicate directly with either Oracle9iAS Containers for J2EE, Oracle9iAS Single Sign-On, or Oracle9iAS Portal. Oracle9iAS Single Sign-On communicates to Oracle Internet Directory, which, in turn, communicates with Oracle9iAS Metadata Repository where user and group entries are stored.
