Multiple Platform and Protocol Access
Access through Windows, the Web, and FTP let people use whichever interface they preferred. Over time, some users preferred the Web interface over Windows, while others stuck with Windows.

Multi-protocol access also made it easier to access documents while travelling. When one of the senior partners wasn't initially able to find key documents a client requested unexpectedly, she was able to use the Web interface to perform a quick search for all files containing references to the client, and immediately retrieved all the requested documents.
