Index Tuning Wizard The Index Tuning wizard generates detailed index tuning recommendations, and generates scripts to implement required changes. Knowing the type of database application helps the Index Tuning Wizard determine the type and number of indexes to recommend. An accurate representative set of SQL statements is required to ensure good index tuning results. Use the Recommendations window to monitor the progress of the evaluation process. If the Index Tuning Wizard determines that index changes are necessary it provides a tree list of index recommendations. You can view the details for a recommendation by clicking the Details button at the bottom of the wizard panel. You can then generate and review an Analysis Report and implementation script. In the final step, selected one or more implementation options and click Finish.
