Previously, to run a report, it first had to be built in the Report Builder and saved as an .RDF file (or .REP file). Now you can build a report definition using XML tags. The XML report definition can be run by itself or applied to an .RDF file at runtime to customize the report’s output.
Another way to use this feature is to perform modifications to your reports in batch with RWCON60. This can save having to make repetitive changes manually in the Report Builder.
