When administrators bring a service down for maintenance, they need a simple way to halt unnecessary paging and e-mail notification. In Release 2.1, administrators with Superuser privileges can schedule paging and e-mail blackout periods on a service. Like jobs, blackout schedules can be one-time or recurring, at intervals that you specify. Paging and e-mail automatically resume when the blackout period is finished.
