Client Operations
  • You can perform client operations either through a browser as a thin client, or directly through the Console as a fat client.
  • You start a thin Console client by supplying a URL to a Java-enabled browser.
  • You login to a Management Server with your administrator account username and password, and are then automatically connected to the repository that services the account.
  • Management servers contact the Intelligent Agent installed on a node to discover the Oracle services on that node.
  • Intelligent Agents communicate the results of a job or occurrence of an event to the Management Server.
  • When you execute a database command from the Navigator, or launch a DBA tool from the Console, you use JDBC and repository preferred credentials to connect to the database.
