12 Create Personalized Portals

On Steve’s first day of work, he can go to any computer on the network and access the corporate portal. When Steve logs in, he is welcomed by the New Hire portlet that contains information to help smooth his transition into the company. Steve can add, modify, or remove portlets at any time, but his first concern is ordering a new computer. Oracle Application Server Portal provides a browser-based environment for building and deploying enterprise portals like the one shown here. Your portal can present information from many sources, including any Web page, application, business intelligence report, syndicated content feed, or hosted software service.
