47 What Can TopLink Persist?

Oracle Application Server TopLink integrates the object and relational data worlds, allowing applications to transparently store and retrieve Java objects using relational databases. TopLink supports the following types of architectures:

Java Business Objects: Persistence of "regular" Java objects is the most widely applied use of TopLink. Also referred to as Java objects, object model, Java classes, domain objects, business model, and business objects.

Java Objects and EJBs: Allows a flexible mixture of entity beans with lightweight normal Java objects.

CMP and BMP: With TopLink, you are not locked into any particular application design. You can use Java objects, EJBs, or a combination of the two.
