This illustration shows how the Web Clipping Provider takes advantage of Web Cache using invalidation-based caching. The cache stores portlet content in memory and is situated between the Portal instance (OracleAS) and the Web Clipping Provider. An item remains in the cache until the cache receives notification that the item needs to be refreshed.
