Figure 15-3
This illustration describes an initialized bind descriptor. The "n" variable is set to "3", as the maximum number of select-list items or placeholders to be DESCRIBEd. The "s" variable contains pointers to three addresses of data buffers. In this case, the addresses are for names of placeholders of maximum length 5. The "m" variable confirms the length of the placeholder names, as m sub-zero through m sub-two are set to "5". The "x" variable contains pointers to three addresses of data buffers. These data buffers store names of indicators of maximum length 4. The "y" variable confirms the length of the indicator names, as y sub-zero through y sub-two are set to "4". All other data fields in the descriptor are undefined.
