This diagram is divided into the following four sections, from top to bottom.
Public: This represents external access to Oracle Collaboration Suite and includes the following characteristics:
Base 12 public IP addresses are shown to external users.
Users can connect through a NAT layer using HTTP, HTTPS or SMTP. Web Conferencing connects through a proprietary protocol.
DMZ: The demilitarized zone between the outside world and Oracle Collaboration Suite; includes:
Two Reverse Proxy servers using ports 80 and 443.
Two SMTP relay servers using port 25.
Two load balancers handling traffic on ports 80 and 443.
Tunneled Web Conferencing traffic to the middle tier.
Internal: The internal network, including the following tiers, each residing on their own server:
Two middle tiers (ocs.acme.com), both using IP 10.10.10.1.
Two infrastructure tiers (sso.acme.com), both using IP 10.10.10.2.
Two information storage tiers, both using IP 10.10.10.3.
Customer Network: Supports all connection protocols to the middle tier.
