The goal of this guide is to give you adequate information to help you understand the concepts behind Oracle Enterprise Manager. The primary administrative interface used in this guide is Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control featuring all the self-management capabilities of the Oracle Enterprise Manager.

This guide is not an exhaustive discussion of all Oracle Enterprise Manager concepts. For this type of information, refer to Oracle Enterprise Manager Concepts. Additionally, for a complete discussion of tasks, refer to Oracle Enterprise Manager online help.

For information about database administration, see Oracle Database Administrator's Guide.

Most chapters in Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control Quick Start Guide have an associated Oracle By Example lesson. The OBE helps you go through all tasks in the chapter with the help of annotated screen shots. In some cases, the OBE provides additional information to help you complete the task at hand.

The Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control (Release 2) OBE series is listed at http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe10gEMR2/quick_start/index.html

In addition, Oracle University provides a related instructor-led training (ILT) course called Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Release 2. You can locate this course by going to http://education.oracle.com and specifying the course number D17244GC20.
